CM: Icardi wants to leave PSG and seal Italy return with Milan – the Rossoneri’s stance

By Oliver Fisher -

The future of Mauro Icardi continues to be the subject of great speculation and AC Milan are the only real possible destination for the striker in Italy, a report claims.

Icardi has only 5 goals in 24 appearances this season, but above all only 47 minutes in the Champions League and only 13 games as a starter in total. Calciomercato.com reports that he earns €7.5m net per season in salary plus bonuses that are guaranteed to Inter, with the player and his wife/agent Wanda Nara pushing for a permanent exit in the summer.

He was offered to Juventus just before Christmas but it was a discussion that did not go much further because at that time Juve had not planned to bring forward the summer budget for the winter, and they ended up going for Dusan Vlahovic. Inter are not an option either given how he left the club for Paris.

Icardi therefore remained in Paris despite talks over a potential switch to Barcelona and Arsenal. In view of the summer, however, the scenario changes because Icardi has decided that he will leave, and the Growth Decree could favour a return to Italy.

That return could be to Milano, because the Rossoneri are approved as a destination by the Argentine. As for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s stance, a striker will join in the summer but in terms of the characteristics and salary he has, the former Nerazzurri captain does not seem a good fit.
