Christian Pulisic is a pivotal player for AC Milan, and this will not change anytime soon with his numbers continuing to improve.
Since arriving last summer, Milan have often looked to the American winger for inspiration, and they have normally found it. Pulisic has produced on a scarily regular basis, and his first season in Italy was the best of his career – a shock in itself.
A drop in form this season may not have been expected, but perhaps understood, given how good he was last season. However, this has not been the case. Instead, his numbers have continued, if not gotten better, and Pulisic’s importance cannot be understated.
In 15 games this season, the winger has gotten 12 contributions – seven goals and five assists – and should he continue on this path, he will nearly double last season’s record if he plays the same amount of games as last season for the Rossoneri (50).
There have already been calls from the American National Team camp to lessen his minutes, and with the 26-year-old back on international duty, he spoke to the media at a press conference (via Milan News) about his Milan experience so far.
The match against Real Madrid…
“I realised that I have faced Real Madrid eight times in my career, a crazy number in the Champions League. The last game was an incredible effort by the team, my compatriot Musah played a fundamental role in the challenge and everyone saw his importance for the team. Overall it was special to go to a stadium like the Bernabeu and come out a winner.”
The best thing about playing for Milan…
“The best part about being at AC Milan is playing at the San Siro, where there is a special atmosphere. It’s an incredible place to play, very stimulating. All the teams prepare in a special way to challenge Milan there and that makes it even more special.”
The upcoming match against Jamaica…
“I have played against Jamaica a few times in the past and it will be a difficult environment to play in. To this, we have to add that they have a team with good players, a team that has improved a lot in recent years. We have to be ready because it will be a good challenge.
“I think the main objective right now is to beat Jamaica, that’s the only thing we have in mind for now. We have to go step by step, we need a great performance. That’s the only way we can build the foundation for what’s to come and grow as a team, creating what will be our identity and trying to win as many games as possible.”
Sorry Christian the new owners and their minions don’t understand how special San Siro is. How it inspires the team, terrifies opponents and creates an incredible visual impression for football lovers around the world.
Clearly rejuvenating it is the cheapest, most practical solution for the clubs and the city.
The city have offered it to the clubs to purchase.
But unfortunately the owners wan to fill their pockets on a huge construction project and plunge the club into massive debt.
Maldini – the icon – fired
Tonali – the heartbeat of the team – sold
San Siro – our home and the greatest football venue – abandoned
Soon there will be nothing left of what was once AC Milan
We are owned by parasites
Milan has been trying to build a new stadium for over a decade since Berlusconi was the owner.
Was he a parasite too who wanted to fill his pockets?
But don’t let that stop you from spewing nonsense.
And clearly you know which option is cheaper, you are the expert.
Tonali a heartbeat of the team?
Dude was at Milan for 3 years and he was trash for more than half of that time. Kessie, the actual heartbeat of the team made him look good, just like with Bennacer. There is a reason Tonali is a bench player for a mid table epl team. No Kessie to hold his hand.
Yes, let’s keep living in the past, that’s a good way to move forward.
“Tonali – the heartbeat of the team – sold”
A single tear is running down my face right now. Tonali wasn’t the heartbeat of anything. Stop with the revisionist history. On his best day he was a good player, on most days he’s average. It was Kessie in the middle of the field that drove this team. Everyone knows that.
Barca are renovating the Nou Camp, Madrid already did their place etc etc etc, countless examples across europe of the greatest stadia.
Nobody except Gerry and the Wh0res want to see San Siro abandoned!!
“And clearly you know which option is cheaper, you are the expert.”
It is well documented, I suggest you catch up.
Not only is it cheaper, it is divided by 2! Smart a55!
Nobody wants to share another stadium with Inter.
Logistics and upkeep of returfing the lawn is double the costs of normal clubs because of it.
Also, 200M Euros to buy the plot of land doesn’t mean it won’t take over 1B Euros to renovate that dilapidated Stadium. And who knows, after 2025, when the 2nd ring renovation ban kicks in, does that mean that we can no longer renovate that second ring stand in the future because it became “historical” and must be protected from 2026 onwards?
That won’t help when the stadium needs another renovation 5 or 10 years down the line.
I don’t think anyone wanted to leave San Siro because they don’t understand the significance of the stadium. They wanted/want to leave because they are/were tired of giving the Milan council something like 70% of their gate receipts for every match. If you’re a football club and you’re giving away millions in lost revenue to a government body, then it makes sense to own your own ground so that you can use that money, that you earned, to invest in your own club. It’s harldy rocket science, is it?
Thats why the city is offering to sell them the stadium
