Christian Pulisic has published a message on social media after missing a penalty against Juventus on Sunday night.
In the 52nd minute of the eventual 0-0 draw, Milan were given a spot kick. A ball clipped over the top from Luka Modric was about to be met by the run of Santiago Gimenez but he was bundled over by Lloyd Kelly. The referee gave the penalty, yet Pulisic lifted his effort over the bar.

On Instagram, the USA international has written: “It kills me to let this club down. Will work 10x harder to make things right. Forza Milan sempre.”
There is certainly no chance of Milan fans holding it against him given his incredible start to the season, with eight goal contributions in eight games across all competitions.
Milan’s penalty pain has continued though: they have missed seven of 13 spot kicks since the start of 2024, the highest percentage of any club in the ‘top five’ European leagues.

He’s given us several points in the last couple of games so who can blame him. Let’s just hope doesn’t try to hit the top corner next time he takes a penalty :p
There is a constant tendency on this site to overhype Puli. To picture him as the the player who should lead this Milan. The fact is, Puli does not have the character to be that guy, and no statistics will ever change that.
Who has the character to be that guy and lead this Milan?
He is leading Milan. Who runs like he does? Santi, Modric, Rabiot, Saelemakers & Pavlovic.
Who do those guys look for? Pulisic.
Who charges the goal to clean up missed attempts? Pulisic
That he isn’t some overly vocal, about at the screwups (see Tomorri) doesn’t mean he isnt a leader.
We subtracted as should-be world class Theo and added an actual world class Modric. Now there is room for leaders of the Pulisic type to influence. We subtracted the Portuguese Pair and added a manager who makes space for the _right_ leaders to lead.
Pulisic is “Do as I do, not as I say” sort of leader. Pat attention you might become a better leader yourself.
There is a consistent tendency for a troll or two in the comments to try and discredit or diminish the obvious character and skil puli has. No amount of “ignore the stats” will ever change the FACT puli is Milan’s best player.
Or maybe people just disagree with your “facts”. I agree he has the best stats since his arrival but best player? Nope. Leao won us a Scudetto doing some incredible things and there’s a guy named Luka who seems pretty good. Pulisic has a great work rate and that can make up for his deficiencies. Yes, deficiencies, plural. Last night it did not. That being said, hes doing a decent job leading while Leao is not match fit.
To me, if we win a major trophy with Pulisic doing the lionshare of the work then it would be a different story. Until then, myself and others will continue to disagree with you. I hope we do and I’ll be first to say I was wrong because Forza Milan sempre.

One of them gives 100% effort during a game, runs almost more than anyone on the pitch, misses a penalty and then admits failing the team.
The other, well the other is lazy Leao. No running, no effort, missing sitters, more known as a streamer.

Some people only look at the goal scoring & assist charts to base their opinions on without watching the games.

I don’t think we should be sh*ting on Leao or Pulisic. They f*cked up, no one knows it better than they do. Shake it off and focus on Fiorentina – it’s done. Truth is we will need Leao and Pulisic at their best if we have any realistic/remote aspirations of winning the Scudetto. Main goal of course is CL. It sucks Im disappointed but we move on.
Yep. Its over. In the end a draw at Juve isn’t a bad result even though we should have won it. Puli hit that upper 90 corner against Mexico a few years back but didn’t work this time.
I think you are 100% correct! We need both players at their best because they do different things well and those different skills can complement each other. Puli has great vision to set his teammates up and great football IQ to be in the right place at the right time. Leao is a 1v1 nightmare for defenders. Big, strong and fast, he can create his own scoring opportunities. He also proved yesterday that he can receive passes as well as any true striker. He just didn’t convert them. Hope that’s not a trend.

Last couple seasons, we would have celebrate 4 out of 6 points against napoli and juve.
But now we’re a better team, we actually regretted the 2 points we lost.

He missed one before and came back strong, he can easily do it again. He almost made up for it 10 minutes later with an assist when he found Rafa at the back post which is one of the misses Rafa is catching heat for. Pulisic is my favorite player, but journalists and fans need to stop calling him the best Milan player the best Serie a player especially after only a month of play. STOP saying that and say pulisic is playing HIS best.
