Pulisic labels Maignan as world’s best after ‘very important’ Frosinone win

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic stated that Mike Maignan is the best goalkeeper in the world after the Frenchman assisted his goal in the win over Frosinone tonight.

After the midweek Champions League setback at the hands of Borussia Dortmund, Milan returned to winning ways in front of their own fans by beating Frosinone 3-1 to keep the pressure up on Juventus and Inter.

Luka Jovic broke his duck with a well-taken volley towards the end of the first half and then Pulisic collected Mike Maignan’s long ball before dribbling around multiple players and finding the top corner to make it 2-0

Fikayo Tomori’s close-range finish from a fantastic corner routine put the result beyond doubt, even though Marco Brescianini’s free-kick did ruin the clean sheet.

Pulisic spoke to DAZN after the game to reflect on a win that was very much needed, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“It’s very important. We won against Fiorentina, we wanted to win [tonight]. We think game by game, we prepared a lot for them,” he said.

“Maignan best in the world? For me he is, he made a fantastic save. The assist is too.”

  1. It is ironic that we signed Pulisic with the knowledge he is injury prone, yet he and Theo seem to be consistently healthy.

  2. Happy to see Pulisic healthy and contributing to the attack. He lost a few good years at Chelsea riding the pine. For my money’s worth, the top teams in Serie A are every bit as good as the Premier League and La Liga.
