Christian Pulisic has spoken about the return of Rafael Leao to the starting line-up against Newcastle United as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to AC Milan.
The game against the Magpies is very important, even if getting second spot in the group feels a tall order. The Rossoneri not only need to beat Newcastle but they must hope that Borussia Dortmund – who have already secured top spot – do them a favour and win against PSG.
Pulisic spoke to Sky on the day of Milan’s last group stage game in the Champions League and he commented on what it means to have Leao back in the fold and the Swede back around the club, with his comments relayed by PianetaMilan.
“We are well prepared for this match. Now that we are here the emotions are high and we are very excited to try to win this match and go through. I am ready to play anywhere on the pitch, I already did this season, but Rafael Leao’s return is only a positive thing. We are very happy that he is back,” Pulisic said.
In a statement published yesterday, RedBird Capital Partners confirmed that Ibrahimovic is back for a third spell at the club. He is their employee officially and will be the Operating Partner across its Sports and Media & Entertainment investment portfolio, but will also serve as a Senior Advisor to AC Milan Ownership and Senior Management.
“Ibra is a legend of this club. I don’t know him very well, but I try to do my best with his shirt on . He has done incredible things with this club, it is an honour to have him back among us.”
