‘Why did this happen’ – Pulisic lost for words after Milan lose Coppa Italia final

Christian Pulisic has often been the man to count on in big moments for AC Milan. However, the American was very quiet last night.

In a season where positive moments or periods have failed to be sustained for long, the defeat last night does not feel new. Instead, it just feels like a repetition of everything that we have seen this year.

Nothing can be taken from Bologna, who were excellent value for their victory. However, that does not mean we can’t be frustrated with the game that Milan played, which saw them look toothless after brief spells of positivity throughout the game.

It almost certainly ends the Sergio Conceicao era at the Rossoneri, something which was probably likely even with a Coppa Italia win. So whilst there is hope for what the new era could look like, there is also a sense of fear about what could be on the cards heading into a Europe-less summer.

After full-time, Pulisic spoke to Telelombardia and his words have been relayed by Milan News.

“Why did this happen tonight? I don’t know, we’re all disappointed. We didn’t play well, they did very well, they pressed well and put us in a lot of trouble. We’re all disappointed, now the important thing is to finish the season well, we have two games and we have to win.

“I want to thank the fans always. We’re disappointed, we always want to win. Let’s try to finish this season well and the next one too.”

    1. There is zero team play. Everyone only play for themselves. If even that. E.g. Theo has stopped playing months ago.

  1. Milan tends to play better when playing a big team. Probably being underdogs works well with these current clowns we have as players.

The mentality is so poorly that we mentally lose supposedly easy games
