Christian Pulisic is very close to extending his contract with AC Milan and will net a pay rise in recognition of his efforts, a journalist has claimed.
Yesterday an update arrived from La Gazzetta dello Sport about three negotiations that the Milan directors are working on, namely the contract extensions of Tijjani Reijnders, Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez.
However, there have also been reports circulating suggesting that Milan want to move ahead of time to agree a renewal with Pulisic, who has been nothing short of outstanding since arriving from Chelsea in the 2023 summer window.
According to Nicolo Schira, Pulisic is in fact ‘one step away’ from extending his contract with Milan until 2029 and he will receive €5m net per season as his new salary. As a reminder, his current pay is €4m/yr.
This season marks yet another with over 20 goal contributions for the winger, with 12 goals and nine assists to his name so far across 30 appearances in all competitions. His overall numbers for Milan read 27 goals and 20 assists in 80 games.
The USA international showcased his importance during the 2-0 win over Empoli on Saturday, coming off the bench at half-time as part of a triple change and setting up the two goals that won the game.
Great news!
This is really some crucial measure. Pulisic is still a young player (26 years old) and has a lot to offer us with his intelligent and effective football, he will be very important for Milan over the next few years.
If there’s any player on this team that’s worth 5+mil, it’s Chris. Always a hard worker, runs a lot, doesn’t complain. The sort of work ethic we want to see from all the players. In fact I’d argue he should be making Leao money.
It’s impressive to me that he’s had close to 60% goal contributions per game (so far this year 70%) and he’s only started taking penalties for us this year (I believe just one goal so far) and hasn’t had braces or hat tricks to inflate his per game impact. He truly is contributing offensively on the scorecard 60-70% of the time.
Mr. Consistency on the right side and on the opposite side we can find Mr…. ? Yeah, you fill the missing word. 😛
Well deserved pay rise. A truly profesionist and provider leader of our team .
More than any player I can remember, he makes the key move that changes the momentum of the game. Changing momentum is one of the most difficult things to do. He doesn’t necessarily dominate the whole game. He just goes for the jugular at just the right time and makes that one move that turns the tide. Locking him in financially is the smartest thing we can do.
FAKENEWS!!! EVERYONE KNOWS HE IS UNHAPPY!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀
Let me guess….. That ‘one step’ is agreeing the deal with the player? We’ve been one step away from many contracts in the last few years, I’ll believe it when I see dry ink.
This would be a win-win for Milan and for Pulisic. Looking at him from the outside, it appears very clearly that he has never been happier in his career.
