Ranieri believes Milan knocked Inter out of rhythm: “They have not been themselves”

Claudio Ranieri believes that AC Milan are the side responsible for knocking Inter out of their rhythm under Simone Inzaghi which has contributed to their current struggles.

Ranieri spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport and he was about the difficult moment currently being endured by his former team Inter, given that they are currently in seventh place having lose three of their last give games.

“They have not been themselves since the defeat in last season’s derby, when they began to lose the Scudetto,” he said.

The game he is referring to saw Milan come from behind in the second half of the Derby della Madonnina earlier in the year with an Olivier Giroud brace firing the Rossoneri to a huge win that reopened the Scudetto race.

As Ranieri points out, the psychological repercussions from such a game clearly weighed on both sides as Stefano Pioli’s men used the momentum to go on and lift the league title while Inter are having their struggles domestically, especially after Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at Udinese.
