AS: Real Madrid want Brahim Diaz back early – player’s thoughts and the gentlemen’s agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

Real Madrid want to bring Brahim Diaz back after one season of his two-year loan spell at AC Milan, according to a report from Spain.

Sergio Santos of AS is reporting that Real Madrid want Brahim back this summer. Even though his loan at Milan runs until the summer of 2023, there is a gentlemen’s agreement between the clubs which means the player’s decision on what is best for his future will be respected.

The relationship between Milan and Real Madrid is fantastic, while Brahim is clear in his stance: he will return to the Spanish capital if he will have an opportunity to play in order to continue his development.

If he sees himself as not having an important role in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, he will stay for another year at Milan. A factor that is influencing his decision is that there is the World Cup in November, and Luis Enrique likes the playmaker a lot.

Santos goes on to add that there is purchase option on the part of Milan and that it is a dry loan, which is contrary to what reports in Italy have suggested since the deal was done.

      1. If Brahim leaves we can look towards getting a proper CAM. And we will be forced to get one. Unless we switch to 4-3-3…if not Maldini will be looking, Adli is already set to compete for that position but we need another player, unless Pioli moves Pobega to CAM

      2. Being forced to buy a real player for that position, not someone that seems like one of those “forever a talent for the future” guys.

  1. Another ” great” piece by As.
Real Madrid has loaned out Brahim Diaz to Milan for a 2nd time, this time for 2 years, and now they want him back early because of why? He has impressed them so much over the last 8 months by haven’t been able to score since September or assist since October? Or maybe because besides being the only thing close to a CAM in the Milan squad and still lost his spot to a DEFENSIVE midfielder who has bricks for feet.
The only reason RMadrid has a buyback clause for Brahim is because Brahim wanted it since he still believes that one day he’ll be regular for them. Thats why their buyback option is almost equal (3,4mil difference) to Milans purchase option. Makes no sense to structure an agreement like that.
R Madrid is not thinking of Brahim, they pray Milan buys him outright so they can recuperate the money they paid ManCity to get him.
