AS: Real Madrid target Milan, Chelsea and Bayern trio in hopes of repeating Alaba-esque coup

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie is in the sights of Real Madrid as they hope to repeat the David Alaba free transfer coup, a report claims.

According to AS (via AllFootball) in Spain, Real Madrid are looking to ‘hunt for bargains’ and sign players that would be a big boost to the depth and quality of their squad without paying astronomical – or even any – transfer fees.

Antonio Rudiger of Chelsea is one of the targets that has ended up on the list of Los Blancos and he has not agreed an extension with the Blues due to his high wage demands, but the German international ‘no longer a priority’ because Eder Militao is beginning to find his best form.

Kessie is the second name on the list and the 25-year-old Ivorian midfielder seems certain to leave the Rossoneri this summer, with Real reportedly interested in the him as a ‘potential competitor for Casemiro’s spot’ in the engine room.

The third player mentioned is Corentin Tolisso of Bayern Munich, again with the aim of providing some competition and depth for the midfield. His contract is also expiring, but Die Roten have opened talks over an extension.

  1. Looking at the amount they’re paying for M’Bappe and Alaba, on salaries it will be near-impossible to shift if they don’t work out, I’m not sure I’d describe their free agent signings as ‘coups’.
