AC Milan playmaker Brahim Diaz has insisted that he is happy with the work the team are doing, and acknowledges that opponents fear playing them.
The 21-year-old was in fine form last night as he served an assist to Rafael Leao to open the scoring and won the penalty for Franck Kessie to double the advantage in the 2-0 win over Torino.
Brahim spoke to Milan TV’s microphones about the Rossoneri’s season so far, with his comments transcribed by MilanNews and translated below.
“I am happy with what we are doing as a group and as a team. It is super good that they the press call us like this [the terrific guys] and as I said it is good that the opponents are afraid to face us. We are a very strong team and I am very happy about it,” he said.
On Leao’s goal against Torino: “In the action of the first goal with Torino there is a great play by Theo that gives me the ball. I know that Leao likes to go into space, I noticed him immediately and served him seeing that the defender was pushing up.
“It’s a team goal. We are all united and are reaching a good level but I think we can reach an even higher level and we will try to do it until the end of the season.”
About his passion for football: “Football is my passion, it’s what I love. I play with my heart because you have to love what you do. I love what I do and this is a positive feature. In addition to talent, you need to have passion.”
On the season so far: “All years and all seasons are important but we have to think about the present. This is a very important season and we have to continue at this level to be able to do great things together.”
On the strength of the group: “Football is our passion, we are all united. It is true that we have had many injuries and many absences but anyone who takes the field gives their best.
“This is thanks to all of us but above all to the staff and to Mr. Pioli who gives us courage and passion and when he talks to us he shows us his passion. All the fans who follow and support us give us this positive energy.”
On Ibrahimovic: “Ibra is a player who makes a difference both on and off the pitch. We know that he is always with us both on and off the pitch and he is able to bring out the best because he wants us to give our best.”
On targets for the season: “Our goal is to think game by game and try to win all the games.”
