Longo: Rebic could leave Milan this summer – a ‘significant offer’ is incoming

By Oliver Fisher -

Ante Rebic’s journey at AC Milan could be set to end after three years as an offer for the winger is expected, according to a journalist.

It was not the easiest of campaigns for Rebic in 2021-22 as although he managed 29 appearances across all competitions barely any of them were starts, with the Croatia international battling repeated physical problems.

On top of that, he simply wasn’t as decisive in front of goal. After hitting double figures in each of the last two seasons, this time around he managed 3 goals and 2 assists (all competitions) which has cast doubt upon his future at the club.

According to what Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com is reporting on Twitter, Rebic could leave Milan during the summer mercato, very much implying that the club are open to selling the 28-year-old. Not only that, but he adds that a ‘significant offer’ for the former Eintracht Frankfurt man is incoming.

  1. I’d hate to see Rebic leave, he is my favorite character in the squad ,but I understand why he would want to leave. He is in his prime and he sees the writing on the wall that he won’t be a starter at Milan anymore. Rumor has it that he will go to Wolfsburg where his old coach Niko Kovac just got hired.
Rebic time at Milan has been kind of Jackyll and Hyde . When he is On he seems like he can’t put a foot wrong but when he isn’t On he looks like he never kicked a ball before Iin his life.
Hopefully he stays at Milan, stays healthy, recover his form , more dr.Jakyll less Mr.Hyde

  2. Don’t sell Rebic he is a great warrior. Yes he has some health difficulties but it is the same as Ibra. Don’t think Now Lang will be better than him. And also if Real comes with 120 mil offer for Leao, I don’t want to think 🤔

  3. I would be sad to see him go. He is a warrior and he is so versatile. He can play LW, RW, forward and even CAM. He is great passing with both feet, crossing, thru balls, quick combination passing/give and go’s in tight spaces — he’s good at all of that. And he has great speed. I hope we keep him; but if a very big offer comes in, then I suppose Milan can use the money… we shall see.

That is a good guess that Kovac could go after him at Wolfsburg — they won the Pokal trophy together at Frankfurt.

    1. Can he play right wing and cam? Genuine question. Ive not see him play there before. Just as the striker and on the left wing. With the issues weve had in the middle and right, if he could play there, and wanted to play there, i think he would have got more games.

  4. I think the team needs to let him leave if he wants. He’s good enough to be starting for a lot of teams and it’s a World Cup year.

    1. He was kicked off the Croatia squad last year, and will not be included in the World Cup squad anyway.

Although he is a warrior, he doesn’t possess the creative skill that all Croats possess (and doesn’t fit in with their squad as a result).

  5. Please don’t sell him he is my best player in milan he have something that doesn’t have the whole milan squad

  6. Yes, I agree with you Nelli — he deserves that for sure.
But that doesn’t mean I won’t be upset to see him leave our team!

  7. Milan should sell him and use the money on bringing in another Croat (Josip Brekalo).

Still young at 23 and has a bit of that warrior alpha mentality like Ante Rebic.

Not a physically strong player like Rebic was, but an extremely gifted offensive player.
