GdS: Rebic’s goal one of few positives in Salerno – he could be a big resource for the finale

By Oliver Fisher -

There were not many positives to take from a dark evening in Salerno, but Ante Rebic getting back on the scoresheet was certainly one of them.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how Rebic’s return to scoring is crucial with Ibrahimovic still in the pits and Giroud without a goal away from home, plus Rafael Leao being allowed the odd below-par game. The Croatian at least rescued a point for Milan in a dreadful evening, with his first goal since the one against Juventus on 19 September.

The 28-year-old striker has had a particularly complicated moment due to injuries. First he had an ankle problem, then a muscle injury to the left thigh and again his ankle, which forced him to miss 11 out of 26 league games this campaign.

Now Rebic has found his way back to scoring and hopes to get a starting spot soon, perhaps as early as Friday against Udinese, because an in-form Rebic would be a huge resource for the final rush.
