Record: Guardiola wants Leao at Man City but winger prefers Milan stay

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao wants to stay at the club and renew his contract but Manchester City are interesting in landing him, a report claims.

According to a report from Record (via MilanNews), the parties are continuing to negotiate over the renewal of Leao’s current deal which is set to expire in June 2024, but the Portuguese forward has ended up in Manchester City’s crosshairs.

The management of the Premier League club together with their head coach Pep Guardiola are carefully watching the development of last season’s Serie A MVP, but Milan will not give up easily.

Furthermore, the intentions of the 23-year-old are to stay in Italy and continue his adventure with the Rossoneri, where he feels happy. Given that he has a starring role under head coach Stefano Pioli and his development is continuing at a rapid rate, it is a positive update from a Milan fans’ perspective.

  1. Cap, if he Prefers a Milan stay he needs to prefer it above everything, everything. Don’t let Milan pay your stupid 20M, take the 6.5M and fk play. Score 2/3 games in a row and not 1 in 3 games. Also say to Mendes then that he needs to shut his mouth

  2. Concocted stories, I refuse to believe them because he has not signed the dotted lines. If he really wanted to stay, he would have signed already. Leao stories are like hot cake now, everyone has an opinion.

  3. I think mendez who spread the rumour, if he wants to stay then he already sign the contract, its just like kessie and dollarunma cases, we all know what the end, i think we better sell him

  4. Leao worst case scenario is Renew at a high offer from Milan. What is Milan worst case scenario, he leaves free of charge to another club. Milan have to be ruthless and sell him in Jan window if no renewal agreement arrives by 31st Oct

  5. We are not renewing, because the management can’t meet his demand.

He will leave in the summer for a fee of around 90M or less. Facts!

    1. waiting till summer places him in his last year of contract, we cant get 90m at that stage except if sold in january.
if he has any sense at alln he should accept the increament that Milan is putting on the table for (1) to repay Milan for putting him in the spotlight
      (2) if he leaves to another clubn most of them don’t play our formation where he perfectly fits in & nor would he be appreciated, I saw him in the game some days ago, for portugal they hardly passed
the ball to him, he really tried beyond normal to be able to assist that Dalot goal. a team with superstars hardly notice players like Leao & coaches like guardiola would hardly entertain his inconsistency, he better stays if he wants to achieve greatness, Milan is a home to him any day

  6. in order to avoid another Frank Kessie or Alessio Romagnoli saga, let’s sell this guy for a whopping sum and get three descent players in the least.

At least that’s what I would do.

  7. how hard is it to adapt to play the wing when in the Milan formation he is a winger, he will fit great for city with the skills he posses and all the skilled talent around him, he will blossom. he can get behind come inside and allow the full backs to over lap. And he is pretty good in 1 on 1 situations which is something he will see a lot at City. I just think you don’t want to lose him lol. He would be a bigger sensation at the biggest club in football then he would at Milan
