Relevo: Asensio will leave Real Madrid after nine years – offers arrive from Italy

By Oliver Fisher -

Marco Asensio has decided that he will not renew his contract with Real Madrid thus making him available on a free transfer, a report claims.

Relevo report that Asensio has made the decision to reject the renewal offer that he has on the table from Real Madrid and in the coming weeks he will sign for a new club. Jorge Mendes, his agent, and José Ángel Sánchez from Real have been in talks since December, but he has decided to leave.

Asensio has waited for Real Madrid because his priority was to stay, but he feels that Carlo Ancelotti did not stick to his word when he said how important he was to his plans, because he started on the bench in all the Champions League knockout games, as well as the Copa del Rey final.

Asensio has a handful of offers on the table and he still hasn’t decided where to go next, but several of the big clubs in Italy and England have knocked on his door in recent months, as well as PSG.

Now, he must assess the right move for his future after a season in which he racked up 12 goals and eight assists. Real were willing to raise his current salary slightly and gave him the freedom to choose the length of his deal, but the desire to feel important won over.

Calciomercato.com reported yesterday that Milan have had frequent conversations with agent Jorge Mendes in which Asensio’s name was mentioned, with the management poised and ready to try and sign a winger of such international calibre.

  1. If we have the wage budget, then go for it. One of his best forte is his long shoot. And boy do we need someone who break a deadlock with a long shooter.

  2. Wow, what a lineup we’d have if Asensio is on the right wing, Kamada in the middle, Leao on the left all backing up Wahi/Openda/Balogun! AND because he and Kamada are free we’d have the cash to secure Frattesi for the middle.

    Dreams:

    Mike
    Calabria-Thiaw-Tomori-Theo
    Frattesi-Tonali
    Asensio-Kamada-Leao
    Wahi

  3. He’s free, right? And I think he earns around 4m/year? Instead of spending 20-30m + salary on someone, why not get him with a higher salary ?

Im a big fan, and That’s a bargain imo

He’s 27, lots of experience, left footed, and can score…. Considering our struggles on the right wing, What else do we need ?!

    1. Quick Googling resulted in 6mil-ish salary. So yeah, it should fall within our reach. One of the Madrid players I personally like, so this might come subjective.

His stat is also remarkable this season, considering most of his appearance were as a subsitute. Madrid’s super sub will be easily be our guaranteed starting 11 for sure.

  4. Can’t think of a more fitting opportunity (quality, position, age, caliber, experience, mentality, free transfer) for ACM to step up, meet his demands, bring him on board and actively raise the bar for the years to come.

  5. He’s free but makes 6-7M season and we won’t spend that much so on to the next. Stop dreaming gents lol. Haven’t any of you realized yet we have. With these Owners we have a Wage Cap and youth policy?? Should we sign him? Absolutely. Will we sign him. Likely not. Next

    1. Yep , we have salary cap for new player 4m euro nett. Unless owner increase salary cap to 6m euro nett ,there is no chance we sign asensio or ziyech

  6. He would be a good solution to both the AM and RW positions. If he can keep his weight in check he is an excellent attacking player. Most of the times he injured himself it happened after he gained weight. He puts on weight very easily.

  7. He’d be perfect but apparently PSG and the Premier League are also interested….

It would send a message and if we focused on him and a CM we might be able to pull it off but we’d need to FOCUS.

Forget the rest of the positions.

  8. My Dreams next season :

    Devis vasquez
    Florenzi-Gabbia-Kjaer-BalloToure
    Pobega-RLC
    Junior-CDK-Rebic
    Origoat
