Relevo: De Ketelaere accepts move to Atalanta with deal to go through next week

By Euan Burns -

Charles De Ketelaere is on his way to Atalanta from AC Milan after the two clubs reached a final agreement for the Belgian attacker, a report claims.

As has been reported by Matteo Moretto from Relevo, the deal has been finalised and the documents are expected to be exchanged between the two clubs on Monday or Tuesday next week.

The basic agreement for a loan deal was agreed almost two weeks ago but there were final details and the blessing from De Ketelaere himself to still sort out.

Those hurdles have now been passed and the deal will go through very soon. Atalanta are expected to pay a loa fee of €3m and then there is an option for them to buy De Ketelaere next summer, rather than an obligation.

This means that De Ketelaere’s short spell at Milan is not definitely over, but if he plays well for Atalanta, they will surely sign him on a permanent deal.

  1. So what is the positive of Charles De Ketelaere signing?
    Only his young age…
Now imagine that he is much older on much bigger salary… you can’t sell that flop easily…
If he going to stay with Milan in next season, Milan can again send him on loan to another club for some fee and salary, or sell him 25 million if suitable club arrive to cover loss from rest of his depreciation.
Either way management deal this player correctly to cut the losses in future and free space for some other signing in next mercato.

    1. CDK did pretty damn well at Brugge, in both their league and the champions league, he was their most important player in their system, along with Noah Lang, our system doesn’t suit him, you drop him into a Bundesliga club and I guarantee he will perform, just like how De Bruyne and Salah flopped at Chelsea. You must’ve forgotten why we actually signed him.

      1. It doesn’t matter. There was couple of less expensive possible signings that Milan skipped just to bring 35 million player who flopped.
Atalanta in this case risk little, 3 mill plus salary, but if Charles flopped again, his value will halfed from 23mill to 10 or 11.
He might like Origi in Premier League scored so many, but in Milan he didn’t and that’s most important thing.
Now best position for Milan is that Atalanta decide to buy him at the end, so Milan will not lose more money on him.

        1. Don’t compare with origi in PL. He only scored 22 in 6 seasons with Liverpool. He had bad statistic, it’s was the reason Milan didn’t got competition from another club when we try to sign him last season. So I didn’t expect we can sold him easily

  2. Once this transfer is done, Juro brought up Wahi as a target. Seems obvious. He could fit in with our French contingent.

And since we want an Italian CB how about one with a bit of experience? Rafael Toloi. Not sure how much he would be but he’s 32. Well Italian-Brazilian lol.

    1. @Giancarlo Montpellier turned down Chelseas millions for Wahi… surely we don’t have more money to spend than Boehly & co?

Think they realise he’s got room to improve and become a top striker so will only sell this summer for a rediculous fee.

I think the likes of Wahi and Sesko are sadly pipe dreams for us 😞
