Relevo: Milan asked for left-back in talks with Real Betis over winger deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan tried to sign a left-back from Real Betis during the negotiations between the two sides over Alexis Saelemaekers, a report claims.

According to Relevo, in the last days of the market, Milan and Betis spoke about an exchange between Juan Miranda and Alexis Saelemaekers, but the Spanish club said no to the idea.

This was due to there being a substantial difference in the valuation of the players. Real Betis are now likely to renew their full-back’s contract, which expires in June 2024.

Meanwhile, the report also mentions how Milan’s deadline day was characterised by the against time to find an alternative to Olivier Giroud.

Mariano Díaz was an option considered, and he later went to Sevilla, but in the end the Rossoneri took Luka Jovic from Fiorentina for zero euros.

It was a direct but free transfer, without even a percentage on the future resale in favour of La Viola. Jovic signed a one-year contract with an option for three more if the parties do decide to continue together.
