The remarkable record that Ibrahimovic could equal against his favourite victims Cagliari

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not expected to start AC Milan’s game against Cagliari tonight but there is a statistic that suggests he should be relishing the chance to come off the bench.

As per multiple reports it is Olivier Giroud who will get the nod to lead the attack for Milan in tonight’s trip to face Cagliari in Sardinia with the Frenchman looking to follow up his first goal for the club away from San Siro which came against Napoli by netting again.

However, Ibrahimovic is in better condition and he will be ready to come on and try influence the game. The Swede has scored in all of his last seven Serie A games against Cagliari (8 goals), which is a remarkable stat.

The last player to score in eight consecutive appearances against a single opponent in the top-flight was Christian Vieri, against Perugia between February 1999 and December 2003 (12 goals). Ibra must wait for his chance, but he will be like a coiled spring.
