Renato Sanches and Enzo Fernandez are the two names being most concretely linked with Milan for the midfield at the moment, and an update on the situation has arrived.
Calciomercato.com confirm that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will sign two-year extensions with an option for a third year and then the Rossoneri’s transfer market will officially begin. The focus is entirely on Renato Sanches for the midfield but PSG’s interest has made things complicated.
Milan are convinced that they are still ahead in the race and have a great chance of being able to close the operation in the next few days. Meanwhile, there is not currently a ‘real strong candidate’ in terms of an alternative target if the Portuguese midfielder does not arrive.
Enzo Fernandez of River Plate is a player the management like a lot and he has spoken directly with chief scout Geoffrey Moncada. The 21-year-old is versatile and talented, and would be thrilled to wear the Rossoneri shirt, but Benfica and Wolverhampton have both decided to pay the €18m release clause. Milan, therefore, must act decisively soon on one front or the other.
From texts like this, it looks like Maldini is trying to bring in target players for free. As soon as another club decides to offer the parent club money as compensation, Milan gives up ! So is it possible that we are just that financially thin !?
The issue at hand is, the delay of the renewal of massara and maldina contract had brought a very big setback of carrying Renato sanchez, therefore, it gives avenue to other clubs to berged in. The like of PSG and JUVE recently showed there interest.
Going by this, we would end up loosing the player.
