Report: AC Milan and Napoli want unhappy €30m Arsenal star on 18-month loan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Napoli are both interested in a January move for unsettled Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, according to a report.

With the Rossoneri having been strongly linked with a move for the Uruguayan in the summer, TMW – as cited by MilanNews.it –recently reported that Torreira is ‘not happy’ with his season at Arsenal thus far.

Milan are described as ‘closely following the evolution of the story’ to see if Torreira wants to bring his Arsenal adventure to an end, with Unai Emery playing him out of position currently.

An exclusive from English outlet The Sun claims that Torreira is indeed unhappy about his deployment under Emery, and that Milan and Napoli are both taking note.

They state that the two Italian side are ‘looking to snap him up on an 18-month loan deal early next year’ with an obligation to buy based on appearances or other performance parameters.

His agent Pablo Bentancur this week spoke to Calciomercato.com about the 23-year-old’s future in north London, refusing to rule out a return to Serie A.

Torreira joined Arsenal last year from Sampdoria in a deal believed to be worth £26m (€30m) – as per Wikipedia.
