Report: Arsenal and Man Utd to scout Turkey star heavily linked with Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Arsenal and Manchester United are set to scout reported AC Milan target Merih Demiral over the international break, one journalist claims.

The Rossoneri have been linked with a move for a centre-back in the January transfer window given their defensive problems so far this season, having conceded at least two goals in six of their last nine games.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it) claimed earlier on Wednesday that Milan are looking to reinforce their rearguard in the upcoming winter window, with Juve’s Merih Demiral the primary target.

The report acknowledged that the Turkey international may himself push for the move given his lack of playing time this season under Maurizio Sarri, with Sport Witness claiming his price tag would be around €40m.

According to Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones on Twitter, scouts from Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal will be present for Turkey vs. Iceland on Thursday evening to watch Demiral in action, possibly with view to a January move.

The journalist also claims there is a ‘growing chance’ that Demiral will leave Juventus in January.
