Report: Arsenal make offer to Milan star in search for Odegaard replacement – Chelsea also table bid

By Oliver Fisher -

Arsenal have made a contract offer to Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu as the club battle over his renewal, according to a report.

The Turkey international will be out of contract at the end of this season and the media headlines recently have been dominated by the fact neither he nor Gianluigi Donnarumma appear any closer to renewing.

According to the latest from Il Milanista, Milan are keen to keep Calhanoglu and the player himself wants to stay but is asking for €5m net per season to pen a new deal at San Siro. At the moment the Rossoneri have not ceded to this request, so Arsenal have decided to try and pounce.

The Gunners signed Martin Odegaard on loan in January but Real Madrid may not let him depart again this summer, so Arsenal want a replacement and have tabled an offer to Calhanoglu. Chelsea have also done the same as per the report, but the offers are lower than that of Milan.
