Report claims Valencia want €10m Milan defender; River Plate star eyed as replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Mateo Musacchio is the subject of interest from LaLiga side Valencia, and the Rossoneri may have already lined up his replacement.

Musacchio’s game time at Milan has decreased over the last few months as he has fallen down the pecking order, and the player’s agent recently gave a lengthy interview with MilanNews during which he expressed frustration at the Rossoneri’s treatment of his client.

Our mercato expert Vito Angele told us that Sevilla and Valencia are keen on Musacchio, who will be allowed to leave if Simon Kjaer is redeemed, with Milan valuing the 29-year-old at around €6million.

According to the latest from Super Deporte, Musacchio is indeed one of Valencia’s objectives to strengthen their defence. The Spanish outlet claims that are four names on their wish list and th Milan man is one of them.

Musacchio’s contract with the Rossoneri expires in June 2021 and there is no mention of renewal, which is why a sale could materialise in the summer. Milan, which paid around €18million for him in the summer of 2017, hope to get at least €10m from his sale.

MilanLive notes that – with this money – the club could secure his replacement in Lucas Martinez Quarte of River Plate, a centre-back who has long been in the sights of Milan thanks to the work of scouts.
