Report: Clause could help PSG beat Milan, Arsenal and Newcastle to €40m midfielder

AC Milan will face strong competition if they were to firm up their interest in Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, according to a report.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder has been linked a move to Milan over the past couple of weeks as a potential alternative to Tiemoue Bakayoko, with Chelsea continuing to play hard ball over a deal for the Frenchman.

However, competition is fierce. According to Calciomercato.it – who cite Telefoot La Chaine – Paris Saint-Germain are the latest side to join Milan, Arsenal, Newcastle and Hertha Berlin in the race for Soumare.

Their sporting director Leonardo believes that Soumare is an ideal profile to strengthen the midfield and the presence of a certain clause could help the Parisians.

That is because PSG are entitled to 20% on the resale of the player, which basically means that they could get the young midfielder for 4/5 of the price that other teams might pay. If the reported price tag of €40m is right, that would mean an €8m saving.
