Report: Donnarumma at risk of missing next game as recovery continues – Begovic ready

By Oliver Fisher -

Gianluigi Donnarumma is continuing to recover from his ankle injury but he may not be fit enough to appear in Milan-Genoa this weekend.

Donnarumma was not called up for Juventus-Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg due to the problem in his left ankle that stopped him playing the full 90 minutes against Fiorentina, though the game in Turin was postponed.

Now, with it being almost certain that Milan’s game against Genoa – postponed from last weekend – will be played on Sunday, attention has turned towards whether the 21-year-old will recover in time.

As MilanLive reports, head coach Stefano Pioli is obviously hoping that he can call upon his No.1 shot stopper for the important game against the Grifone, however he will not be rushed either.

In the meantime Asmir Begovic, will work to be ready in case he is needed, with the Bosnian perhaps in line for his first start as a Rossoneri player since his arrival from Bournemouth in January.

However, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) are reporting that Donnarumma will be available for Sunday’s game as he has fully recovered.
