Report: Everton look to beat Milan, Man Utd to €20m deal for French starlet; enquiry made

By Oliver Fisher -

Everton are looking to usurp AC Milan and Manchester United in the race to land Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo, a report claims.

We were told last week that the Rossoneri have overcome the competition of Bayer Leverkusen to bring Todibo to Milan having reached an agreement with the Catalan side.

However, both La Gazzetta dello Sport and il Corriere della Sera have since reported that Barcelona strongly believe in the defender’s potential and want to change the goalposts regarding the agreement.

The outlets both claimed that the Catalan side wish to include either a buy-back option or to make it a dry loan – neither of which Milan approve of.

According to the Daily Mail though, there is now competition on the horizon as Everton are ‘among the clubs to have made an enquiry’ about Todibo, who is valued at €20million as per a number of sources.

With Carlo Ancelotti at the helm there may be some added motivation to gazump his former side and win the race for the talented Frenchman, while the Express also mention interest from Southampton and Manchester United.
