Report: Ibrahimovic just the start of Milan’s mercato; 2-3 others players to be targeted

By Oliver Fisher -

The signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic was AC Milan’s first signing of the winter market but will not be the last, it is claimed.

Milan announced Ibrahimovic’s return via a statement on their official website on Friday, with the Swede having put pen to paper on a deal which will run until the end of the current campaign, but there is the option for a 12-month extension.

According to Pietro Blazano Prota of Radio Rossonera, the signing of the 38-year-old only represents the ‘first step’ of the January transfer window for Paolo Maldini and Zvonomir Boban.

The journalist ads that he will not be the only purchase, as the club are also looking for a central defender, with Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo mentioned but also the fact that Milan are evaluating alternatives.

In addition, a midfielder could arrive and possibly also a winger too, depending on what the market dictates regarding tactics and possible outgoings.
