Inter fans were once again at the centre of more unsavoury scenes on Sunday afternoon as their fans reportedly chanted against Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a discriminatory manner.
The Nerazzurri were held 1-1 by the Sardinian side in what was a feisty early encounter at San Siro. Lautaro Martinez got the opener for Antonio Conte’s side before ex-Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan came back to bite his former side with a second-half equaliser.
Martinez was then shown a straight red card (after an initial yellow) by referee Gianluca Manganiello after his very vocal dissent towards a late decision, and the Argentine even punched a glass screen three times on his way off. He is at risk of missing the derby through suspension.
The unsavoury events were not just restricted to on-field action though, as MilanNews.it reports that the Curva Nord directed discriminatory chants aimed at Ibrahimovic.
They claim that “Ibra you’re a son of a b****” and “Zlatan zingaro (gypsy)” were sung from the home end, which is yet another negative incident in a forgettable afternoon for Inter.
