Report: Lazio join Premier League and Bundesliga sides in race for young Milan midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

Lazio are the latest club to register an interest in Tommaso Pobega along with two clubs abroad, according to a report.

Pobega is the latest highly-rated midfield prospect to have come through the ranks at Milan, and he spent last season on loan at Pordenone before being sent out to Spezia this season on loan with an option to buy.

Now, LaLazioSiamoNoi.it (via MilanNews) are reporting that Pobega is in the sights of Lazio and could become a concrete target to strengthen the midfielder ahead of the 2021-22 season. The real obstacle however is Milan, as the Rossoneri hold control over the player’s future.

Pobega in fact arrived at Spezia on loan with option to buy, but with a buy-back in favour of Milan who have also received expressions of interest from clubs like Leicester City and Eintracht Frankfurt. If Lazio want to firm up their interest, therefore, they will have to convince Milan to sell and beat the competition.

  1. All Milan see these days are capital gains and dollar signs. This is why we have no more Italians. We are essentially becoming Inter Milan so we shouldn’t be able to dislike Inter anymore as we now have the same philosophies. Gross.
