Report: Milan already have former Nike Italia man lined up for communications role

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have already identified that man they will appoint to replace Fabio Guadagnini as Chief Communications Officer, it is claimed.

The Rossoneri announced on Tuesday that Guadagnini will leave the club at the beginning of September. The news was broken by the club’s official website and continues the reshuffle that the Rossoneri have continued to make under owners Elliott Management Corporation.

Guadagnini joined Milan back in 2017 when Yonghong Li’s group took the club over, having previously held a position at Sky Italia.

According to journalist Pietro Balzano Prota on Twitter, at the end of August will be announced the new head of communication that will be Pier Donato Vercellone.

In 1994, Vercellone was part of the communication office of Nike Italia, while in 2000 he left to become Vice President of Marketing Communications for Telecom Italia.

Seven years later, he took on the role of Communications Director of Major Events for the Council of Milano. He is currently Director of PR Events and CSR for the Sisal Group.
