Report: Milan and Inter eye Cagliari goalkeeper nicknamed ‘Spider Man’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may have already identified their potential replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma given his difficult contract situation, a report claims.

Donnarumma’s contract expires at the end of next season and a number of reports have confirmed that the Rossoneri have no intentions of letting the Italy international enter the final year of his deal.

Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Milan are aware that they may have to sell their prized young goalkeeper this summer so as to not risk losing him for free at the end of next season. They added that a €50million price tag has been set, with Juventus and Real Madrid the two teams most interested at present.

According to Calciomercato.it, Milan may face a transfer battle with city rivals Inter for the signing of Cagliari’s Alessio Cragno, who would be Donnarumma’s replacement.

Inter are also looking to the future given that their No.1 Samir Handanovic is now 36, and Cragno – although he has played only two Serie A games this season due to a shoulder injury – could be a good calibre of replacement. Milan could therefore really be the new city of the player nicknamed ‘Spider Man’.
