Report: Milan, Arsenal target determined to force move – €60m fee not an issue for Chelsea

Dayot Upamecano is determined to leave RB Leipzig this summer, a report claims, despite the Bundesliga side wanting him to sign  a new deal.

We reported via our mercato correspondent Vito Angele yesterday that Rangnick is keeping a close eye on is Upamecano. The RB Leipzig defender’s contract will expire in 2021 and should he fail to reach a renewal agreement with the German side, Milan could get him at a good price.

According to German outlet Fussball Transfers, the Frenchman has decided to quit Leipzig this summer despite their hope that he will extend his current agreement.

The report mentions how Arsenal and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in England, while Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich are also apparently keen.

They also add that the 21-year-old agreed personal terms with Bayern a fortnight ago, but his contract’s €60m buyout clause proved too steep for the Bavarians who have instead signed Tanguy Kouassi.

However, his €60m release clause is not expected be a problem for Chelsea, as per TribalFootball.
