Report: Milan battling Liverpool and Inter to land 29-year-old Real Betis stalwart

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of three teams interested in signing Real Betis defender Aïssa Mandi, according to a report.

Spanish source La Razon recently reported how Mandi is expected to leave Betis in the summer when his deal expires, meaning he is free to negotiate with other teams, something that Liverpool and Milan want to take advantage of.

The centre-back has been linked with Liverpool on previous occasions such as in January when the English side were looking for a replacement for the injured Virgil Van Dijk. Mandi has played 164 games for Betis across all competitions since his move from Reims, and has 59 caps for his country too.

According to the latest from FennecFootball, three ‘big European teams’ have registered their interest in the Algeria international: Liverpool, Inter and Milan. The Andalusian club would like to extend his contract, but at the moment they cannot satisfy the financial requests of the 29-year-old so things are on pause.

In addition, the former Stade de Reims player does not lack interest in other clubs and could even make a return to France, since Lyon wanted to sign him during the last transfer window. Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia are also keen.
