Report: Milan hatch swap deal plan to beat Inter to €30m Tonali deal – the alternative

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may be able to overtake Inter in the race to land Sandro Tonali ahead of the upcoming transfer window, a report claims.

With Stefano Pioli’s stay at Milan confirmed beyond the summer, the Rossoneri’s plans for the summer market look set to change. One of these alterations could be the desire to focus more on domestic talent, such as Ismael Bennacer who arrived a year ago.

According to Calciomercato.it, Milan could try and beat Inter in the race for Sandro Tonali of Brescia, despite the fact that the Nerazzurri have already agreed terms with the player.

Tonali is apparently viewed as the ‘perfect’ signing for the Milan midfield due to his age, potential and the fact he has supported the club since he was young.

To lower the demands of Cellino’s Brescia – which are at least €30-35million – Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara could offer up Primavera graduates Matteo Gabbia and/or Alessandro Plizzari, two players the Rondinelle like.

The report adds that Marc Roca of relegated Espanyol is the possible alternative.
