Report: Milan eye January attempt for Schalke midfielder amid €11m clause

By Isak Möller -

Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada, while keeping an eye on the pitch, are also focused on the upcoming January window. One of the players on AC Milan’s wish list is Assan Ouédraogo, a report claims.

Milan are always looking for opportunities on the market and while they have other things to worry about, it’s wise to let Moncada do his scouting. According to SOS Fanta, Schalke 04’s Assan Ouédraogo has ended up on their radar and contacts have already taken place.

The central midfielder has a release clause of €11m and Milan could trigger it in January, per the report. At the age of 17, the Rossoneri believe that he could become a very good player, having already shown his qualities in the German second tier.

Contacts are ongoing between Milan and Ouédraogo’s entourage, seeing as the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern Munich and Leipzig also are very interested in the player. The Rossoneri are optimistic, though, and could make a move in January.

The feeling is that the defence remains the priority, given the injuries of Marco Pellegrino and especially Pierre Kalulu. Simon Kjaer has struggled to stay fit this season as well, which has made life difficult for Stefano Pioli recently.

  1. Can he play DM? No? Then its a waste of money.
They’re better off finding a free agent midfielder (there is gonna be a lot of them) and using all the cash they can muster for a ST, that isnt david ofc

        1. We can revert to a 4231 formation
          Mike
          Calabria Thiaw Tomori Theo
          This guy Reijnders
          Puli RLC Leao
          Sesko/David/Akor Adams/Bologana guy

        2. But here’s my issue.
Have you seen Zeroli and Eletu? They are also quality midfielders and would be a good idea to start integrating them in the starting lineup, for example the Copa Italia games. If we sign Assan what will happen to our promising youth players.

      1. If he was massive he’d been at real or barca already. In fact if he was massive Milan would have around 0% to get him. Savvy?

        1. Look at you and your childish attitude, maybe don’t try take jibes when you clearly have got no knowledge of the situation, many top clubs want him

        2. are you insane? He’s 17, so he’s not at Real or Barca so he sucks? What type of fan is this, acting like a 15 year old

Also Barca, really? The club that has to sell its grass to make money?

          1. I get what he is saying. I think what he is trying to say is that we should invest in a DM and a prolific striker, not another Box to Box midfielder. We already have many talented midfielders in the academy,

  2. Only reason to bring this guy in would be if we start using him in the first team straight away. It’s a total waste to have him in the Primavera squad. This is the main problem for Milan and Italian football in general. Young players rot in various youth teams until they leave again. In Germany and Spain they have 15 year olds coming in from the bench and scoring goals in the Bundesliga and La Liga!!! Assan needs to be on Milan’s bench and be given confidence immediately, but we all know Pioli won’t think he is ready for 2-3 years…

  3. I think 11 players of Primavera would do better against Lecce. I am tired of this BS. Just promote great primavera talent we have. Give them minutes!!!
