Report: Milan rejoin Juventus and Inter in race for €60m-rated Fiorentina star Chiesa

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have re-entered the race to sign Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

It has been a whirlwind 48 hours for the Rossoneri, who on Tuesday night announced their decision to hand Stefano Pioli a new two-year deal, meaning he will stay on as head coach with the proposed Ralf Rangnick-led revolution now shelved.

As a result, a variety of different media sources are reporting that the club’s plans for the summer window are set to change, especially if Paolo Maldini’s position as technical director is confirmed too.

According to the latest from Louis Girardi on Twitter, the name of Federico Chiesa is back in fashion, with Maldini mentioned in the tweet specifically suggesting he is leading the talks. It comes after Girardi revealed Milan’s interest in the 22-year-old back in December.

Chiesa has also been linked with a €60m move to both Juventus and Inter by numerous outlets, after a season in which he has racked up seven goals and seven assists in 31 Serie A appearances.
