Report: Milan remain linked with Porto striker along with Tottenham

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are still being linked with Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, who is also a target for Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

As has been reported by Correio da Manha in Portugal (via Sport Witness), the Rossoneri are still one of the possible options for the striker who is very keen to leave Portugal this summer.

Milan were linked more seriously earlier in the window but those links went cold a few weeks ago. Inter had seemed the favourites to sign Taremi but they have just added Marko Arnautovic to their squad as he is the cheaper option.

The other team very seriously in the frame is Tottenham, who now need to replace Harry Kane. The Englishman recently signed for Bayern Munich so they are without a main striker beyond Richarlison.

Given Milan’s need to sign a left-back and a central defender, a move for a striker that could cost around €30m is unlikely.

  1. Damn, Inter stole another Milan target.
10 mil for 34 year old headcase Arnautovic, LOL.
They went from Onana, Skriniar, Brozovic, Lukaku, Dzeko to Sommer, Besseck, Frattesi, Thuram and Arnautovic.
If that ain’t downgrade i don’t know what is.
The only position they have upgraded is the backup LWB with Augusto over Gosens.

    1. Remember when they Balogun was their number one target… at least their fans can coo about signing an overpriced Sassuolo midfielder 🤣

    2. Arnautovic on a 3.7 million euro salary and they paid 10 million for him? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

      That screams desperate panic buy.

    3. Don’t celebrate too early.

Yes, looking in short term they lost Skriniar as a star, Onana as a star and Brozovic as a star.
Lukaku and Dzeko excellent goal scorers.

But Fratessi, Bisseck and Thuram are much younger than previous mentioned so long term look is different.

I hope now we are on 50 % – 50% strength and chances against them. Because they 11 players are still very good ones.

  2. They keep stealing them from under our noses 🙃. I actually wonder if Arnautovic will score more than Thuram. Him and Frattesi – talk about overrated.

  3. Maybe a downgrade ,but that should not bother us ,as we have a better man Olivier Giroud..I wouldn’t swap him for anyone ..You all seem so concerned, but I,m not ,the squad of players we have will come good ..
At the end of the season when Giroud has scored around 20 goals in all competitions..What will you all be saying then …yes I am serious..with another 20 possible for Rafeol leao and goals from Loftus cheek ,and pulisic …We have a team that should be able to challenge for honours this season ,what we do need is another defender .We have got the attackers ,,goals will not be our problem,,,goals against is a slight weakness..

    1. I agree to some extent with you – BUT – I dont think Giroud will score 20 goals 🙂

However – I do think Pioli should stay with the 4-2-3-1 formation.

Look at the attack and midfield – AMAZING!

      —————Giroud—————
      Leao——–Pulisic——-Chucky
      —–Reijnders—RLC————–

      And the backup line:

      —————???????—————–
      Okafor—Reijnders—–Pulisic
      ——–Musah—–Krunic——–

If we can get a good Striker to compete with Giroud AND and strong CB AND LB, we can go far this season.

      1. That starting formation will give up 3 goals per game.
        Zero defensive balance.
And the defensive line is already suspect as it is
