Report: Milan set to miss out as Chelsea close in on agreeing €31m deal with PSG

By Oliver Fisher -

Tiemoué Bakayoko appears to be closer to joining Paris Saint-Germain than Milan at this stage, with an offer having reportedly been submitted.

Negotiations between Milan and Chelsea for Tiemoue Bakayoko have been one of the biggest sagas of the transfer market campaign. After at first it seemed a formality that Bakayoko would return, it is now uncertain when a decisive breakthrough could occur, one way or another.

According to what is being reported by parisfans.fr, an agreement between PSG and Chelsea is very close. Leonardo has put on the table an paid loan of €7m an option to buy set at €16m, plus bonuses of €8m which adds up to a potential operation worth €31m.

Just a few details remain to be resolved before the Paris-born Bakayoko can secure a move to his hometown club, but confirmations from bigger sources are awaited on this indiscretion.

There is the possibility that Milan could make a new bid after the Europa League qualifier on Thursday against Rio Ave, as a win in that game would secure an extra €15m in revenue by reaching the group stages.
