AC Milan see no future at the club for midfielder Lucas Paqueta and are looking to offload him this summer, it has been claimed.
Simply put, it has not been an easy season for Paqueta by any means. Under Marco Giampaolo he was played as a box-to-box midfielder and struggled, then Stefano Pioli arrived and he has not been a regular member of the starting XI at any point since.
Having arrived from Flamengo in a deal worth around €35-38m in January 2019 (depending on which outlets you believe), Milan are ready to write it off as a bad investment.
According to Alessandro Jacobone on Twitter, Paquetà has long been considered a ‘trading chip’ by Milan in order to help raise funds and invest in the squad ahead of the 2020-21 season, as Stefano Pioli does not see a use for him into next season.
The interest of the Fiorentina has been there for months and it is possible that Paqueta could be used in a deal for defender Nikola Milenkovic, but it is not the only possibility for the Brazilian.
