Report: PSV not interested in swap deal with Milan – their stance on Dumfries

By Oliver Fisher -

A report from the Netherlands has attempted to clarify the truth about a possible swap deal between AC Milan and PSV Eindhoven involving two full-backs.

The Rossoneri’s interest in PSV right-back Denzel Dumfries has long been talked about in the media, and there have been reports that Milan will try to use Ricardo Rodriguez – currently on loan with the Eredivisie side – as a counterpart in the deal.

Dutch outlet Ed.nl confirms Milan’s strong interest in Dumfries, but makes a couple of points clear. Firstly, it is true that Dumfries wants to make a leap in quality and play for a bigger club, but he has not ruled out playing another year with PSV. His contract expires in 2023, so there will be no issues from a contractual point of view.

Secondly, the report clarifies that there will not be a swap deal with Rodriguez – the two operations would be separate and PSV will only let Dumfries go if they receive a worthy offer.
