Report: Zenit striker with expiring contract offered to Milan – the Rossoneri’s response

By Isak Möller -

During the course of this month, and the preceding weeks, there has been a lot of rumours about a defensive signing for AC Milan. The attack hasn’t been completely disregarded, though, but the Rossoneri don’t seem keen.

According to Nico Schira, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been offered the services of Zenit forward Sardar Azmoun. The Iranian international has been linked with Milan in the past and his contract will expire in the summer.

This season, he has scored 10 goals and assisted an additional four in 21 appearances for the Russian side. Not bad numbers and considering his age (27), he could be a good option on a free but as per the reporter, Milan are not interested.

The attacking department of the Rossoneri is certainly ageing, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud having just a few years left between them. Azmoun, however, simply isn’t a target of the club, nor for now and the future.
