Report: Udinese star De Paul gives priority to Milan despite offer from Atletico Madrid

Since securing Champions League qualification, which essentially means they have a bigger budget, Milan have been linked with several important players. One of them is Rodrigo De Paul, set to leave Udinese this summer.

This morning, Tuttosport reported (via MilanLive) that the Rossoneri are very interested in the Argentine for the trequartista role. With 9 goals and 10 assists this past season, though, Udinese have slapped a €40m price tag on De Paul.

More reports have now surfaced on the matter as Daniel Speranza claims that De Paul expressed enthusiasm in the meetings with Paolo Maldini. Despite an offer from Atletico Madrid, therefore, he has given priority to Milan.

The deal is still complicated, as the journalist continues, but it’s clear that the will of the player could play in the Rossoneri’s favour. It remains to be seen if Maldini will proceed with the interest and make a concrete move.
