Tuttosport: Calabria’s stance is clear as Milan schedule meeting for renewal

By Isak Möller -

Milan will compete in the Champions League next season and will need a strong squad to do well. In addition to a few signings, they also need to lock down their stars and Davide Calabria is one of them.

The right-back’s contract with the Rossoneri will expire next summer and therefore, negotiations are set to start for a renewal. According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan have scheduled a meeting with the player’s representatives for next week.

They will be looking to reach an agreement and a pay rise is expected, seeing as Calabria doesn’t earn that much right now (around €1.1m per season). The new salary could perhaps be double the current one, which is justified.

Having said that, there are no doubts in Calabria’s mind: he wants to stay at Milan and become a symbol of the club. Having come through the youth system of the Rossoneri, he could perhaps get the captain’s armband as well.
