Reports: Benfica and Napoli rivalling Milan in race for Lille midfielder and Real Madrid winger

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been linked with both a Real Madrid winger and a Lille midfielder in recent weeks, but seem to face competition for both.

Calciomercato.it recently reported that Lille’s Boubakary Soumaré has been in the sights of Milan for some time and January it could represent the right opportunity for the management to move.

His renewal has not arrived yet and his current deal expires in June 2022, meaning that Lille could be forced to sell for €25million.

Spanish outlet TF are reporting though that there is the interest of Benfica to contend with. The Portuguese giants have already started contacts with Lille over the 21-year-old, who has an asking price of €20m.

Meanwhile, the same outlet are now claiming that Napoli are closing in on a deal for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez, who has also been linked with the Rossoneri. They will either sign him in January for €10m, or on a free next summer when his deal expires.

Calciomercato.it reported recently that Milan are attentive to Vazquez’s situation as he will leave Real Madrid at no cost because they have no intention of renewing his contract, while Defensa Central added that he has emerged as a transfer target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United.
