Reports: Lazetic will be part of Milan’s first team – further details on transfer fee

By Isak Möller -

Marko Lazetic seems to be just one step away from joining AC Milan on a permanent basis this month. It came a bit out of nowhere as the Rossoneri only just failed to secure Pietro Pellegri from Monaco.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara initially wanted to fast-track the permanent signing of Pellegri, but they were unable to reach an agreement with Monaco. As a result, the Italian will return to the French side and then join Torino on loan.

All of this prompted Milan to make a move for a young striker on the market, namely Marko Lazetic. The 18-year-old has scored one goal for Red Star Belgrade’s first team this season and has been touted as a very promising striker.

According to Pietro Mazzara of MN, the transfer fee should be €5m plus bonuses, as well as a % on a future resale. Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport (via @Nemcy85) adds that it will be €4m in two instalments, €1m in bonuses, and a 10% resale clause.

Daniele Longo also stated that Lazetic will be part of Milan’s first team, rather than the Primavera.

  1. Just today he reached 18. Very young player

Surprise again, did not expect him, but is not illogical. Typical new era transfer

He can develop on training with Giroud and Ibra and will not expect much playtime.

5m is not nothing, but essentially we will be moulding him. Hope Darwin or at least one between Origi or Belotti arrives summer and we loan him to Lille- they know how to polish talents (plus we need both Sanches and Botman)

    1. First of all roback turned 18 in may and has recently got his debut in the coppa italia while also pioli has used both a young squad and debuted 6 primavera players or something since he took over the helm of coaching the club so not really sure you would give the indication that he wont give any young players a chance when it clearly is the opposite.

        1. Ofcourse they can but that wasnt my point was it ? my point is that pioli has given a lot of chances to young players and even plays with one of the youngest sides in the top 5 european leagues and still people complain about him not utilizing enough young players.. Besides of that donnarumma was a super rare occourence not to be expectected to happen even each decade as he is the 4rth or fifth youngest player to ever start for milan in its entire club history so dont expect that to happen often or maybe even in our life time again.

Either way roback arrived at a young age from a different country and has had to settle in and to my knowledge neither he or the primavera team hasnt really been that great in the time hes been with us either. The fact that he was fielded in the cuppa italia against genoa showcases though that the coach has some faith or hope in his development and either will start utilizing him some more or loan him out thgei window or the next.

          1. I agree with Martin, and I’ll add that just because we signed Roback at age X and has been at Milan for Y days doesn’t mean he automatically gets playing time. Roback may not be showing the development he should be to merit minutes in a first team official match. Just because a kid is showing potential at 16-18 doesn’t mean that he’ll end up taking the next step. Where is Cutrone now for example?

    2. So what if he turned 18 in may, this lazetic turned 18 today ,thats the biggest problem he treat him like he is 15,he should have much more playing time until now ,not just 5 minutes in cup match, especialy if u dont have any option in attack and put krunic on ST a player that is CM, which player from primavera we can count on under pioli?noone, roback got 5 minutes and stanga got 10 minutes, kalulu is not primavera player, when they bought him they told him he will play with first team, there was many players that should get a chance at least in preseasons like plizari, olzer, kerkez, even colombo was loaned out and he was decent, dont talk me about giving chance to players by giving them 5 minutes playtime in 2 seasons ,what kind of chance is that,in other teams players with 18yo already plays important role but here u have to be 20 to get some minutes

      1. It happened in one game from what i can recollect that he used krunic in that position. If a player already has played the previous day in the primavera he cant play for the serie a team the next one so not sure why or if a sudden injury played in in that match choice but yeah i would personally also chose a primavera attacker instead of krunic for that position. There might also have been considerations that keeping a midfielder in form would benefit the squad more than giving the debut to a youngster. When that is said there are lots of stuff happening behind the curtains we never hear about but in the end i do remember that we got through that period with most of our points so in hindsight then pioli made the right choices.
In the end though i also want to see roback some more no doubt about it but you also know that people varries and at a young age some people are just more mature and ready so a player might have the talent but if he isnt deemed ready to handle the pressure then his debut might come at a later date. Either way i think that he was used in the coppa italia means he propably will get some minutes in the last half of the season or getting loaned out now or in july.
Eitrher way ive always been a supporter of giving young talents as many chances as possible but milan still has to think about results so its a balancing act and looking at the serie a table then we are actually doing a pretty good job with the means made availabe to us.

    3. Pioli gave chance for Colombo, Roback, Pellegri, and a lot of youngsters including Leao, Saelemakers, Kalulu, Gabbia, Tonali, etc.

So what you said here isn’t making any sense. You can dislike or hate Pioli and Krunic but for fvck sake stop this childish behavior!
