Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi is considering an approach from AC Milan to replace Gennaro Gattuso as head coach, a report claims.

Speculation has been rife that the Rossoneri will sack Gattuso at the end of the season in the event a top four finish is not achieved, while he could even apparently leave regardless.

However, both il Corriere della Sera and La Gazzetta dello Sport are claiming that the Lazio boss has received a call from Milan to enquire about whether he would be interested in moving to San Siro.

The Aquile though for their part are determined to keep hold of their manager and have proposed a new deal which would see his pay rise from €1.2m to €1.8m per year.

Inzaghi has taken charge of 120 Serie A games while at Lazio –  winning 63, drawing 24 and losing 33.
