Reports: Midfielder with €100m clause available at cut price; Milan and Man Utd interested

By Oliver Fisher -

Benfica are keen to offload midfielder Gedson Fernandes who has recently changed agents to force through a move, a report claims.

Sky Sports in the UK claimed on Thursday that Benfica are listening to offers for Fernandes, who they want to loan out for 18 months with an option to buy.

They also stated that Lyon and Milan have ‘made formal offers’ for the player, who would rather move to England with his agent having held meetings with four Premier League clubs.

The same outlet reported on Monday that Fernandes is one of a number of targets for Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window.

Portuguese outlet A Bola (via Sport Witness) are reporting that Fernandes has split from agent Miguel Pinho, hiring Pini Zahavi as his new representative to “give a new direction” to his career.

Meanwhile Record (via TEAMtalk) are claiming there are no offers on the table at the moment for the 20-year-old, who could be sold for €40m despite having a release clause of €100m.
