Reports: Milan offered Barcelona playmaker Coutinho but player wants Liverpool return

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho on loan, according to a report.

Mundo Deportivo have published a report claiming that Coutinho is one of the players who should leave Barça this summer to reduce the wage bill, but his physical condition makes it difficult for the interested teams to offer a permanent deal and so the Blaugrana management believe a loan could be the only opportunity to offload him.

They cite Tuttosport in claiming that his agent Kia Joorabchian has been offering Coutinho to several teams that will play in European competitions next season and one of the clubs he has contacted is Milan, after the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu, though Everton’s James Rodríguez has also been offered out.

The report even mentions that Coutinho’s desire is to return to Liverpool, where the Brazilian performed at his best before arriving at the Camp Nou, but coach Jürgen Klopp does not seem interested in reuniting with the Brazilian. Leicester remains another concrete option, it seems.
