Reports: Milan want to announce signing of midfielder in €20-25m deal before Thursday

By Oliver Fisher -

The operation between AC Milan and Brescia for Sandro Tonali has been defined and an announcement is expected too, reports claim.

According to both il Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) this morning, Milan’s purchase of Tonali will be officially confirmed in the next few days. The management want to make Tonali available to the head coach Stefano Pioli for Thursday’s preseason meeting at Milanello.

Milan did not exercise their option to buy the 21-year-old midfielder and instead chose to enter negotiations with Brescia president Massimo Cellino to try and secure a discount, and it seems as though the stance has paid off.

The reports add that Tonali will no longer cost Milan €35m but only €20-25m plus Giacomo Olzer as a counterpart, but Milan will have the right to buy him back. The loan of striker Lorenzo Colombo could also be discussed at a later time to further sweeten the deal.

  1. The buy back option is all we needed to hear, well done @ the management they should include that in all the transfer of the youth players

  2. what’s the point of the buy back? even right now Pesina is doing very well in Atalanta and Milan can get him back for half the price, and Milan still does not want him back here.

  3. Pessina doesn’t want to move because Pioli’s formation doesnt suit him. He feels his development will be hampered.. If milan do well.. We could go back for him next window. Hopefully with a new coach!
