AC Milan have missed out on the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko as the Chelsea midfielder is set to join Napoli, according to a report.
Negotiations between Milan and Chelsea for Tiemoue Bakayoko have been one of the biggest sagas of the transfer market campaign. After at first it seemed a formality that Bakayoko would return, it is now uncertain when a decisive breakthrough could occur, one way or another.
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio among other sources, Bakyoko is in fact now closing in on a move to Napoli, where he will reunite with Gennaro Gattuso under whom he worked at San Siro during the 2018-19 season.
The Frenchman’s medicals are scheduled for Sunday as the Neapolitans look to get everything over the line before Monday’s 20:00 CEST deadline, but it seems they have beaten both Milan and PSG to the signing of a player considered outside of Chelsea’s plans.
